Ryan Walker

Ryan has worked in the conservation field since 2005, where he has completed projects in land and natural resource protection through the use of tools to include conservation easements, restoration, open space planning, and Geographic Information Systems. Currently, he works for Natural Lands Trust, a regional conservancy in southeastern Pennsylvania.  At NLT, Ryan’s municipal work is focused on many aspects of open space planning, such as park, recreation, and open space plans, as well as ordinance assessment. Ryan also manages the monitoring and enforcement program for NLT-held conservation easements. Prior to joining NLT, Ryan worked for various organizations including the US Forest Service, Maryland Environmental Trust, Virginia Outdoors Foundation, and local land trusts in the Washington, DC region. Ryan earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Urban Planning from Virginia Tech and recently completed a Master’s in Natural Resources focusing on leadership in sustainability from the same university.
