Diarra McKinney is the Real Estate Advisor at Martha’s Table where he is responsible for development of Martha’s Table’s new 43,000 square foot headquarters, the Commons at Stanton Square, located in Ward 8 of Washington, DC.
Mr. McKinney works with Martha’s Table leadership and implements the organization’s vision to build a world-class new headquarters, which will provide early childhood education, middle-school and high school education, and healthy food options for District of Columbia residents.
Mr. McKinney is the founder and CEO of Rosewood Strategies, a local real estate development and investment firm. Rosewood focuses on urban infill development and investment opportunities.
Mr. McKinney formerly was Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Neighborhood Development Company (NDC), where he served as a project lead on several development projects that he shepherded through acquisition, finance, concept, entitlement, and design phases. From 2015-2016, Mr. McKinney was Director of Acquisitions at Ditto Residential, where he managed acquisitions of new deals, and from 2008-2012 Mr. McKinney was a Development Executive at Clark Realty Capital, where he focused on large mixed-use projects.
Prior to his business endeavors, Mr. McKinney spent two years as a High School Mathematics Teacher and Mathematics Department Coordinator at the Friendship Collegiate Academy where he taught 9th and 10th grade children in Washington, DC.
Mr. McKinney is a native Washingtonian and a proud graduate of Washington, DC Public Schools. Mr. McKinney received his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Stanford University, his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, and his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
